We are super excited to announce a partnership with Ride Concepts who have kindly kitted out 8 of our MTB ride leaders with their Accomplice Boa MTB shoe!

Starting out with a frothy coffee and a tour of their set up. We were treated to seeing behind the scenes and the staff in action servicing some suspension (forks and shocks and droppers).
They have all the parts needed to service any Fox fork or shock or dropper. It is recommended to do this regularly to prolong the life of your suspension which is very costly to replace if it is beyond repair. They have some super special limited edition gold forks out at the moment celebrating 50 years of Fox read more here: Limited Edition Podium Gold Forks – RideFOX you may have seen these on the pro racers for the 2024 season!

Their shoes have different compounds and styles to suit everyone. We have the Accomplice Boa womens shoe which has some great features firstly no wet, muddy laces to have to content with with the simple Boa system giving a great snug fit at the twist of the button!

•MAX GRIP rubber outsole
•Dual-density EVA insole provides additional support and cushion
•BOA® L6 Fit System for precision fit tightening and fast release, combined with textile TX4 laces that are strong, flexible and low-friction
•Lightweight nylon tech upper with suede eye row detail
•Toe and medial anti-abrasion zones ward off usual wear and tear
•Internal TPU toe protection
•Four-way stretch slip tongue keeps dirt and debris out
•EVA midsole for comfort and performance
•Heel pull tab for easy entry

They felt very light straight away out of the box, super soft and cushioned but not bulky when on the foot. We had lots of trying on and switching sizes checking to see which felt best - most sticking with their regular shoe size some sizing up for thicker socks in winter.

So far I (Zoe) have used them on local rides and also for a couple of days at Dyfi bike where you absolutely need your feet to stay in contact with your pedals! Despite it being very wet and damp and the shoes being absolutely covered in mud, my feet in the waterproof socks stayed nice and toasty and dry!

And they hosed off and dried quicker than any other shoes I've ever had (on my shoe dryer!). The heel support can feel odd when you first try them on as it can feel stiff but this is ideal when on the bike you don't want heel flexing and it holds it nice and snug. There are also less vibrations through the feet due to the insole design. The pull tab on the back is also super thick and sturdy and big enough to fit your finger in!

The grey muted colours means it goes with most kit, it will be great to see the range expand as more buy into the brand and they can bring more of the range to the UK. Watch this space for a Ride Concept Womens ride out soon! The growth of the market for women in MTB is huge as more come into it and we need more brands like Ride Concepts that consider women from the start designed around what women want and need from brands rather than just pinking and shrinking their current (often male focussed) products. As Dr Stacey Sims says "Women are not small men".
