A group of the girls Alive mountain bike riders took to the hills of Wales in mid-October, reaching new peaks in the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. There were plenty of ups but also great descents over two days of guided riding with Kath and Sally from Ride High Mountain Biking.
They shared their local knowledge with us as well as offering some light-touch coaching to develop new skills in unfamiliar conditions. The weather gods were kind to us, with only one downpour that luckily coincided with a coffee stop.
On the first day, we rode out from our lovely hostel, The Rocks (highly recommend staying there) and on the second made our way to Conwy where we took a long ride up from sea level before enjoying stunning coastal views from heather-strewn paths. The get-away weekend was a great opportunity to explore new trails, enjoy some warm Welsh hospitality and ride in the best company. The time flew by and there’s definitely appetite for another girls Alive on tour moment next year.
